About The Position

VNE, LLC is seeking a technically strong SIGINT / EW Systems Engineer to support SOF maritime C4ISR programs and Marine Corps SIGINT/EW systems. The role requires expert-level knowledge of tactical ELINT, RF signature analysis, precision geolocation, system integration, and Test & Evaluation of intelligence systems used in maritime and expeditionary environments.

Requirements

  • Prior service in US Navy as CWT, CTR, CTT, CTN, or in US Marine Corps as 26xx, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in SOF SI/EW as USN TIO-O or USMC SOCS-F.
  • Hands-on experience operating tactical SIGINT/ELINT sensors, conducting RF signature analysis, precision geolocation techniques, and exploiting a range of RF signals and protocols.
  • Knowledge of RF hardware and the RF chain (up/down-conversion, filtering, LNAs, amps, mixers, couplers, etc.).
  • Experience with expeditionary/maritime/littoral SIGINT operations.
  • Ability to work independently and brief leadership on technical findings and system performance.
  • Total minimum combined experience is at least 12 years with SIGINT or DCGS projects.
  • TS/SCI level Clearance required. CI Poly preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (engineering, cyber, physics, etc.) or equivalent operational experience.
  • Demonstrated T&E experience (test planning, execution, reporting, requirements verification).
  • Familiarity with UAS and SATCOM sensor payloads, multi-platform collaborative geolocation, and overhead ISR assets.
  • Experience with Python, C++, MATLAB, SCEPTRE, SDR frameworks, or digital signal processing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Test & Evaluation of SOF SI/EW capabilities, including tactical ELINT for radar/emitter ID, signal-exploitation tools across RF protocols, and cellular/RF geolocation technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise to USMC SI/EW programs through system upgrades, fielding activities, troubleshooting, and technical assessments.
  • Lead or assist with test planning, TRRs, DT/OT execution, data analysis, and detailed test reports.
  • Draft requirements and test cases based on capability gaps and industry technologies.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot SIGINT/EW/C4ISR systems on maritime and ground platforms.
  • Use RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes, power meters) to verify and evaluate component performance (LNAs, amplifiers, mixers, splitters, couplers, feedlines).
  • Evaluate system suitability for maritime environments including RCS considerations, shock/vibe, thermal, EMI/EMC, and shipboard power/space constraints.
  • Research friendly and adversary RF/cyber-domain threats to inform capability development.
  • Provide training and technical support to operators during fielding and deployment.
  • Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
  • Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
  • Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face
