About The Position

General Summary of the Position The Classroom Teacher plans, guides, and evaluates the learning process of students. This position reports to the principal and has decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed. Plan for instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum and submit plans according to the school policies. Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning. Use effective instructional methods and models according to professional standard practice. Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments. Provide instruction and assessment for understanding. Maintain current and accurate records according to school policies. Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom. Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns. Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, and staff. Other duties as assigned by principal Abide by all policies as outlined in the Catholic Schools Office Handbook of Policies and Procedures for Elementary and Secondary Schools; TCCB ED Guide to Quality and Effectiveness Position Requirements Key Responsibilities: - Facilitation of Learning: - Guide students through the SmartLab Learning Process, encouraging them to explore, plan, execute, reflect, and share their projects. - Support personalized learning paths, allowing students to pursue projects aligned with their interests and abilities. - Promote a collaborative learning environment where students work together to solve problems and complete projects. - Curriculum Implementation: - Utilize the SmartLab LearningHub platform to access and implement over 500 standards-aligned, project-based STEM curricula. - Ensure that learning experiences are aligned with national and state educational standards, including CCSS, NGSS, and ISTE. - Assessment and Reflection: - Encourage students to document and reflect on their learning experiences, fostering metacognitive skills and deeper understanding. - Provide formative assessments and feedback, helping students set goals and monitor their progress. - Professional Development: - Participate in over 50 hours of initial and ongoing professional development provided by SmartLab Learning, focusing on effective facilitation strategies and technology integration. - Engage in continuous learning to stay current with emerging educational technologies and pedagogical best practices. The facilitator will manage a flexible classroom layout designed to promote collaboration, creativity, and hands-on learning. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM fields, or a related area.
• Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to student-centered, experiential learning approaches.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn various educational technologies and tools used within the SmartLab environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively facilitate group learning and manage a dynamic classroom environment.
