Requirements

  • Minimum of two years as a mechanic at the journeyman level in the power equipment industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English/Spanish (Bilingual)
  • Complete working knowledge at journeyman level of light duty diesel and gasoline powered equipment.
  • Ability to trouble shoot minor technical repair problems and the aptitude to use computerized or mechanical test and repair equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions given by management.
  • Ability to participate in a team environment and work well with others.
  • Ability to deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn Berghoff standards and procedures for work completion.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and practicing safe work behaviors.
  • Demonstrate accountability for work being performed and completed on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance procedures on power equipment that are of the highest quality.
  • Coordinate repairs that will accommodate the needs of the maintenance and construction departments.
  • Adhere to instructions given by management or the lead Mechanic when the VP is absent.
  • Keep records of time and materials used in each job.
  • Supply needed information to document all routine and major repairs.
  • Provide and maintain information needed to maintain a substantial parts inventory under the guidance of management.
  • Inspect and test all shop equipment.
  • Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed.
  • Follow proper safety procedures and standards on a regular basis.
  • Participate in all necessary Berghoff training with relation to equipment and safety.
  • Arrive on time for each workday and prepare, including dressed in the appropriate uniform.
