About The Position

Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing small construction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation on job sites. Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and minimize equipment downtime. $27.00-$32.00 hr DOE $100.00 daily per diem

Requirements

  • Experience with small engine repair (gas and diesel)
  • Ability to read and use technical manuals and diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Ability to work in outdoor construction environments

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3+ years of mechanical experience
  • Certification in small engine repair (optional but helpful)
  • Experience working on construction job sites

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on small construction equipment
  • Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines , including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
  • Service equipment such as generators, air compressors, compactors, concrete saws, and mixers
  • Change oil, filters, spark plugs, and belts according to maintenance schedules
  • Inspect and repair fuel systems, carburetors, and electrical components
  • Identify and fix hydraulic, fuel, and oil leaks
  • Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety standards before use
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns on-site to reduce downtime
