About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Small Business Development Center TechSource Trainee provides programmatic, operational, and administrative support for the Boulder Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) statewide TechSource program. This position supports statewide and local initiatives serving advanced industry startups and scalable ventures. The trainee will assist with program logistics, event coordination, CRM data management, impact reporting, communications, and general program operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  • Skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.
  • Current undergraduate student, graduate student, recent graduate.
  • No experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with planning, coordination, and execution of in-person and virtual accelerator programs, workshops, and events for TechSource.
  • Supports event logistics including registration management, materials preparation, technology setup, venue coordination, food and beverage arrangements, and on-site execution.
  • Assists with post-event follow-up, including surveys and data compilation.
  • Supports coordination with speakers, consultants, sponsors, and partners.
  • Enters, updates, and maintains accurate client and program data in the SBDC CRM database.
  • Tracks program participation and engagement metrics.
  • Assists with compiling economic impact data and drafting portions of impact and performance reports.
  • Supports basic budget tracking and reconciliation under supervision of the Senior Program Manager.
  • Assists with updating program descriptions and content on the SBDC website.
  • Supports development of newsletters, promotional materials, and event communications.
  • Drafts and edits client success stories highlighting program impact.
  • Supports outreach efforts to increase awareness and participation in TechSource programming.
  • Assists with sponsor communications and coordination as needed.
  • Provides administrative support to the Senior Program Manager and Center team as needed.
  • Observes and supports client meetings occasionally.
  • Participates in team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement of program delivery.
  • Assists with documentation and preparation for internal reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the Boulder SBDC.
