About The Position

Engineered Materials Solutions in Attleboro,MA is seeking a Slitter Set-up Operator for a 2nd shift 3-person team. Position Summary: The Slitter Set up person is responsible for working with the Lead Operator and the Apprentice as a team to maintain the safety of the area, meet the required production and quality requirements for the slit material.

Requirements

High School or Equivalent
1-3 years experience operating related equipment
Ability to read and write English
Basic Shop Math skills required
Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs with hoist.
Standing up to 75% of time

Responsibilities

Review operation schedule and work with the operator planning the day/shift.
Set-up the off-line head for the next available job on the schedule.
Switch heads when the job is completed on the on-line head with the off-line head set-up for the next job.
Assist in the processing of material through slitter (Working with the 3rd hand apprentice when free from setting up the off-line on making tags, strapping coils and planning next job)
Inspect and release slit material
Work with slitter operator to adjust slitter to maintain tolerance and customer specification requirements
Work with team to identify non-conformance material and correct deficiencies
Read route cards, SOPs and other documents.
Handle material and package cuts for delivery to next operation
Use hand-held measuring instruments (Micrometer and Vernier), core cutter, camber bar, and other equipment as needed.
Other duties as required.
