About The Position

The Slitter Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining slitting machines that cut large rolls of material into narrower rolls according to precise specifications. The operator is responsible for setting up the machine, monitoring its operation, and making adjustments to maintain product consistency and minimize waste. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating slitting or similar industrial machinery.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform machine adjustments.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and add/subtract math fractions.
  • Ability to read and interpret production orders, blueprints, or technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Experience with computerized or automated slitting equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate slitting machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Adjust machine settings such as tension, speed, and blade alignment to optimize performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to prevent downtime and extend machine life.
  • Document production data, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot problems and improve processes.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during operations.
