About The Position

The Slitter Helper shall assist in the functions of Slitting material in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift. Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
• Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and Recoil operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assisting slitter operator as needed
• Clean and lubricate machines.
• Assist with set up or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, steel coil material.
• Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed.
• Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
• Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
