About The Position

This specialized department provides attended diagnostic testing services relating to the control of respiration, sleep staging, and esophageal pH recordings. Children's Hospitals and Clinics' St. Paul has the only diagnostic sleep lab in the upper mid-west dedicated solely to the care of the pediatric population, ranging from pre-term infants to young adults with special needs. The sleep lab is nationally accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, being one of less than 10 fully accredited pediatric sleep laboratories in the United States. This position involves a wide variety of important responsibilities regarding infant, pediatric and young adult diagnostic testing. All duties directly impact patient care and are focused on obtaining a diagnosis and/or therapy options for referring physicians. The position interfaces closely with Sleep Disorder Providers, Sleep Psychology, nursing staff, patients and families, and others both inside and outside the hospital. Cross Campus work may be required.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification required
• RPSGT obtained within 2 years of employment
• Graduate of either an Accredited Sleep Technology School or in lieu of education, must hold a qualifying allied health credential approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)

Nice To Haves

• Preferred allied health/professional credentials: RT, RN, EMT, EEG

Responsibilities

• Polysomnograms (inpatient and outpatient)
• CPAP/BiLevel titrations
• Oxygen titrations
• Seizure montages
• Impedance pH testing
• HST education and set up
• EKGs (inpatient and outpatient)
• Scoring 4 channel studies for both inpatient and outpatients
• Sleep Lab tours
• Multiple Sleep Latency Testing
