About The Position

Performs the essential duties and responsibilities and the primary functions of a Sleep Therapist in a diagnostic role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients. Responsible for meeting the established standards for the administration of diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic care as well as appropriate documentation of activities related to that care. Manages supplies and equipment. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. This position will not be allowed to stage or score polysomnograms, perform Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing (MWT), or Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT) as those are expectations of a registered technician. SHIFT AND SCHEDULE Full Time: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Requirements

  • Non-credentialed technicians must have completed the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program. (A-STEP)

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic polysomnograms according to best practices/policies
  • Provides accurate, timely and complete documentation in respect to plan of care, assessment, and other patient care documentation.
  • Incorporates continuous performance improvement recommendations into clinical practice
  • Assumes responsibility for his/her professional development.
