About The Position

We are seeking a hardworking and physically fit Pallet Repairer to join our team at Taylor Made Pallet & Logistics. In this role, you will work independently or with a partner to repair pallets according to specific design instructions. The position requires excellent physical stamina and consistent use of hand and power tools. Requirements

  • Prior experience in pallet repair, woodworking, or construction is preferred.
  • Knowledge of operating a variety of saws, including their uses and maintenance, is preferred.
  • Ability to work with high-powered saws in a fast-paced assembly line environment, meeting or exceeding daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and imperfections in pallets.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred; any combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with a partner.
  • This position requires strenuous manual labor and excellent physical stamina.
  • You must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Capable of repeatedly lifting, pushing, and pulling 75 pounds or more throughout the workday.
  • You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to lift and stack a minimum of 275 pallets per day, 15 to 20 high per stack.
  • Requires repetitive use of a hammer, hand-held, pneumatic, and power tools.
  • Vision: Requires adequate near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to safely perform job duties, identify pallet defects, operate tools, read labels, and recognize workplace hazards.
  • Sense of Sound: Ability to hear horns, alarms, machinery, and verbal instructions in a potentially noisy warehouse environment.
  • Sense of Touch: Ability to use hands and fingers effectively to handle tools, fasteners, materials, and equipment with precision and control.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to consistently wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves, throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

  • Working independently or with a partner to repair pallets, following written instructions for the pallet design.
  • Maintaining or exceeding minimum pallet production expectations.
  • Performing pallet construction tasks that involve strenuous manual labor.
  • Standing/walking up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects, using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Lifting and stacking a minimum of 275 pallets per day, 15 to 20 high per stack.
  • Using a hammer, hand-held, pneumatic, and power tools repeatedly.
  • Controlling precision to quickly and repeatedly adjust the contact of a nail gun to the exact position.
  • Understanding the various types and grades of pallets, as well as differentiating between good and bad (un-usable) boards.
  • Using equipment and tools properly, safely, and in a controlled manner.
  • Stamping repaired pallets with your provided employee number.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment by cleaning the entire work area thoroughly at the end of the shift.
