If you enjoy working with your hands and possess some relevant experience, have good hand/eye coordination, and prefer sit-down work, we would like to meet you. GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Skilled Masker performs operations dictated by specific processes to prepare substrates for Parylene coating, including cleaning, surface preparation, and masking. After the coating process, performs demasking, inspection and packaging as required by the specific processes for the product. The Skilled Masker is able to successfully mask and demask a high number of different products. In addition, may also perform shipping, receiving, fixture refurbishing and other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum one year successful Masker I experience.
  • Must clearly speak, read and write English.
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to communicate uncomplicated data, instructions, production results, quality issues and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods of time.
  • High degree of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination in order to perform precision masking and demasking functions.
  • Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
  • Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction. Able to read No. 1 at 14” distance, or No. 2 at 20” distance, or No. 3 at 24” distance.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow the designated processes and work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s) and other written and/or verbal instructions.
  • May perform cleaning and preparation of customer product for masking and /or coating process using basic cleaning/preparatory techniques.
  • Perform masking/demasking and inspection tasks using methods and materials as specified in the designated processes using small hand and power tools, microscope and /or other support equipment.
  • Inspect own work for quality compliance.
  • May perform fixturing/defixturing of parts and assemblies.
  • May inspect, disassemble, clean and/or refurbish and/or reassemble coating fixtures.
  • Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when required and appropriate.
  • Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.
  • May operate precision measuring instruments and record results.
  • Maintains a high level of personal hygiene.
  • May perform daily tasks in a clean room environment where compliance to clean room protocol, including PPE and hygiene standards will be required.
  • May perform scheduled clean room maintenance.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
  • May be responsible for proper disposal, packaging, labelling, shipping or inspection of hazardous materials or waste in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
