A Skid Steer Operator will be responsible for operating the assigned skid steer in a safe and efficient manner to ensure that the jobsite is clear of debris and safe for road clean-up operations. The ideal applicant is detail and able to perform a wide variety of tasks, shifting from one task to another as the workflow dictates. The candidate must have a flexible schedule and be able to workdays, nights, and/or weekends at various local locations.  This is a travel position.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience closely related to the field of work.
  • Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
  • Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50-90 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
  • Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
  • Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
  • The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
  • Requires work performed in outdoor environments/exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions.
  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
  • Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a safe work area by removing unwanted debris and materials from work sites.
  • Operate skid steer in tight spaces and near other equipment and public safety.
  • Perform daily fluid level checks on oil, water and fuel; Visual inspection for obvious leaks and damage to machine before operation of equipment as well as safety equipment checks. Responsible for notifying supervisor if equipment needs to be repaired.
  • Synchronize with fellow crew members, customers, and milling machine operators.
  • Maintain skid steer cabin clean and tidy at all times.
  • Operate milling head attachment to mill curbs and new joints
  • Wear PPE always, in accordance with company safety policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
