About The Position

We are an excavation contractor that lays the groundwork to develop and maintain the societal infrastructure that helps sustain everyday life as we know it. How you’ll get to help us do that Excavate, grade, move, and shape earth to prepare land for essential infrastructure, enabling transportation, and providing access to vital services. What you’ll get to do Prepare sites for new schools, apartment buildings, roads, subdivisions, infrastructure rebuilds, and warehouses Use your fine grading experience to precisely level and pitch parking areas, sidewalks, patios, etc... Maximize the efficiency of projects and make the jobs of your team easier. Use the latest GPS technology Work on projects ranging from $110K - $10M Remain local, working in the greater Hartford area (within 1 hour of Ellington) Work alongside a highly-skilled team committed to keeping you safe and helping you succeed and grow

Requirements

  • Fine grading skid steer operation experience
  • A natural eye for pitch and grading
  • The ability to read plans and grade +/- 1”
  • An appreciation for the many hats of a small team. You're happy to get out and help with labor when needed.
  • You're humble enough to know that there is always room to grow and are not afraid to admit your mistakes (they happen!)
  • You aim for precision and continually fine-tune your equipment operation skills
  • You approach problems from creative angles to create the best possible outcomes
  • You understand that emotions are contagious and value the importance of keeping a cool head when things get tough

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience and can step in to run a dozer
  • Have done excavation specifically for heavy civil site development or underground utilities
  • Have experience using Topcon GPS
