About The Position

Provide skateboarding instruction and supervision to participants of varying ability levels to improve their skateboarding skills. Assist in the execution of meaningful skateboard/BMX programs to develop leadership, character, and fitness.

Requirements

Minimum age: 18+
Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height/weight guidelines

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching or riding skateboarding
Experience maintaining skateboards or skateparks
High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds

Responsibilities

Present a skateboarding program through cheerful, helpful, and efficient service
Demonstrate skillful wheel sports abilities to intentionally and cheerfully teach novice riders in BMX/skate
Assist in the set up and takedown of BMX/skate facilities
Ensure the safety of all riders in skateboard/BMX activities
Turn paperwork into supervisor accurately and timely
Maintenance of Skate/BMX equipment and facilities
Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
