About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer, is hiring a Site Services Engineer - Productivity and Detect. This role involves owning and deploying Caterpillar safety and productivity solutions across customer sites, specifically focusing on the Detect safety technology portfolio and the productivity suite including VisionLink Productivity (VLP) and MineStar Edge. The engineer will work directly with customers to assess operational needs, recommend appropriate technologies, and manage the entire process from quoting through installation, training, and ongoing support. Acting as both a product owner and project manager, the Site Services Engineer will lead multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely planning, execution, and delivery. Additionally, the role includes proactively improving customer performance through monitoring and analyzing operational data and leading Value Simulation Tool Pro (VST Pro) studies to help customers understand their current performance.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of CAT Productivity and Detect solutions
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of customer job site needs and management
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and information to develop improvement recommendations to customers that drive results
  • Fundamental understanding of industry application, specifically Quarry and Aggregates, Large Earth Moving, Waste Handling, Construction and Mining
  • Industry knowledge in Machine Control and Guidance and various Site Applications to include but not limited to: Quarry/Aggregate, Waste and Civil Construction
  • Ability to coordinate across customers, internal teams, and Caterpillar, anticipating challenges and driving solutions before issues arise
  • Excellent customer satisfaction with ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks and demands and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer and internet skills with high technology aptitude
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of Data and Analytics
  • Ability to quickly learn technology products, including Product Link, SOS, CAT Connect, Trimble software options, and other similar products
  • Good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative and creative; able to quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions
  • Travel as needed
  • Excellent driving record
  • Strong PC skills and the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience evaluating digital construction technology projects
  • Previous experience with Quarry/Aggregate, Waste and or Civil Construction applications
  • Previous project management and cross-functional coordination experience
