The Site Safety and Health Officer role is a critical leadership position within our operations. This is a hands-on, field-based role for a safety professional who understands construction realities, earns trust on job sites, and knows how to apply safety standards in real-world conditions. You will be embedded with field crews and work closely with superintendents and project managers to ensure work is performed safely, compliantly, and efficiently in accordance with EM 385-1-1 requirements. Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA construction standards
  • Proven ability to lead safety in active, production-driven job sites
  • Confidence to enforce requirements while maintaining professional working relationships
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site safety authority for active demolition, abatement, and environmental projects
  • Implement and enforce site-specific Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs/JHAs/JSAs) in accordance with EM 385-1-1
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Lead pre-task planning and daily safety meetings with field crews
  • Manage and oversee permit programs including hot work, fall protection, confined space, and other high-risk activities
  • Coordinate and deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and required training
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions
  • Interface directly with superintendents, project managers, inspectors, and client safety representatives
