About The Position

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, talented Construction Engineering Professional (Site Representative - Water-Wastewater) , with a focus on water and wastewater construction engineering experience in our Orlando office. This role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to support the Water design teams in Central Florida by working with different teams to complete a variety of projects that involve water and wastewater networks, project design and construction services.

Requirements

  • HS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education on construction phase services.
  • Experience in water and/or wastewater engineering, with construction of large and small diameter pipes for water and wastewater systems.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS in Engineering or a related field
  • Florida EIT or PE License
  • 8 years of progressive experience in construction phase services including inspection services and large and small diameter pipes for water and wastewater systems.
  • Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals.
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully work with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and reporting on the construction of utility improvements, pavement, and large and small diameter pipe installations for water, wastewater, and/or stormwater projects across multiple projects.
  • Overseeing and reporting on various project elements, review and implementation of construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents.
  • Serving as AECOM's liaison with the Contractor during the delivery of construction stage engineering services.
  • Attending pre-construction conferences, progress meetings, and coordination meetings.
  • Coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
  • Preparing daily and periodic reports, documentation of site activities and test results.
  • Communicating project tasks between offices with high level of coordination and communication skills.
  • Advising AECOM project staff and the Contractor of the commencement of any Work requiring a Shop Drawing or Sample.
  • Consulting with AECOM project staff in advance of scheduled inspections, tests, and systems start-ups.
  • Identifying issues affecting the progress of the work and recommending solutions.
  • Verifying that tests, equipment and systems start-ups and operating and maintenance training are conducted in the presence of appropriate personnel, and that the Contractor maintains adequate records thereof; and observe, record and report to AECOM appropriate details relative to the test procedures and start-ups.
