Position Overview Exact Sciences is revolutionizing the cancer diagnostics space and is now looking for another Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its incredible team. SREs at Exact Sciences support our mission by pushing out new features and applications every day. The Site Reliability Engineering team constantly practices the DevOps mindset to build and deploy distributed, fault-tolerant systems at scale. As part of this team, you will work with developers, operations, and product sponsors to help design, build, and deploy the critical infrastructure needed. This role is a hybrid position that requires onsite work in Madison, WI at least three times per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Basic experience with one or more high-level programming languages.
  • Basic experience with building problem-solving solutions in AWS.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing/developing cloud-centric systems using Terraform IaC.
  • Ability to debug/optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Drive to collaborate in a team.
  • 1+ years of Internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Discover new trends and best practices in the industry and work to implement them.
  • Build and maintain monitoring solutions that keep our Operations teams ahead of any incident before they happen.
  • Experiment with new AWS offerings that can one day be used to improve current systems.
  • Continually challenge the status quo, by utilizing automation and finding solutions to repetitive processes.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design seamless CICD Pipelines in Gitlab.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems by participating in the on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate across the development teams to share knowledge and support new projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems using everything in your mental toolkit to find a solution.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
