About The Position

The Site Operations Lead manages the day-to-day technical workflows for Help Desk, AV, and Telecom technicians, while also providing administrative oversight for the site's vehicle fleet and Records Management function. You will act as the "integrator" on-site—ensuring the team is supported and the fleet is mission-ready—while reporting operational metrics directly to the Program Manager (PM).

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years of IT or infrastructure experience, with at least 1 year in a "Lead" or supervisory role.
  • Administrative Aptitude: Strong organizational skills to juggle technical oversight with the paperwork required for fleet and records compliance.
  • Technical Familiarity: Basic hands-on knowledge of structured cabling, Help Desk software, and general vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Professionalism: Ability to interface professionally with USAFA customers and maintain military standards in academic and living areas.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • ITIL Foundation

Responsibilities

  • Technical Team Supervision: Coordinate daily tasks for Help Desk, AV, and Cable Plant technicians. Ensure tickets are resolved within SLA and cabling projects follow the PM’s technical plan.
  • Specialized Function Oversight (Records Management): Provide administrative supervision to the on-site Records Management SME. Ensure their deliverables meet contract timelines and coordinate any IT/infrastructure support they require for digital archiving or database management.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee a small fleet of mission vehicles, ensuring all units are properly maintained and safety-inspected. Manage vehicle registrations, logs, fuel card distribution, and mileage reporting in compliance with base and company policies. Coordinate emergency repairs or routine servicing with local vendors to minimize downtime for the field teams.
  • Infrastructure Execution: Supervise basic ISP/OSP cabling tasks (fiber/copper pulls, labeling). Ensure teams follow all applicable USAF standards and maintain professional decorum in high-visibility cadet areas.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Consolidate monthly status reports for the PM regarding IT tickets, fleet health, and records management progress. Ensure all staff adhere to OSHA safety and DoD 8570 security standards.
