About The Position

For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation's largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 16 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer. Through SYEP, participants can explore different interests and career pathways; develop productive workplace habits, engage in learning experiences that strengthen their social, civic, and leadership skills. STATEMENT OF THE JOB Under the supervision of the Unit manager, the Site Monitor responsibilities are to provide supervision to the youth, conduct weekly group lessons, conduct orientation, create lesson plans, maintain program documentation, and manage the timesheet process. Provide constant supervision of youth working at the site. Facilitate an orientation which will include an overview of the program and work readiness lesson plans under the instruction of the Unit Manager. Conduct weekly group lessons under the instruction of the Unit Manager. Maintain well-documented client records and program statistics to comply with all agency/program/funding requirements, including program files/client documentation, timesheets, worksite documentation, and the educational component all need to be updated and upheld. Manage timesheets process; collect and calculate timesheet hours and submit them to the Program Manager. Work with Unit Manager to obtain proper documentation for maintaining files as audit ready. These include weekly assessments, licenses, assurances, worksite surveys, and worksite evaluations. Visit sites a minimum of two times weekly for monitoring assessments and timesheet pickup. Identify youth needs and concerns to immediate supervisor to resolve matters quickly. This includes immediate conflict resolution and incident reports when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience providing youth supervision required
  • Able to sit for periods of times reviewing client/worksite folders
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Able to travel between numerous sites

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community organizing preferred
  • Experience proving crisis intervention services preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
