About The Position

Reporting to our General Manager the Site Manager is responsible for the safety, customer satisfaction and employee engagement for our distribution facility in Ontario, CA. This position is also responsible for upholding the ethical standards and reputation of the organization in the community. A highlight of your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Overseeing employees at the distribution site. Interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; motivating, coaching, evaluating, rewarding and disciplining employees. Interfacing with Human Resources (HR) and the General Manager regarding employee performance related issues and addressing each situation appropriately. Adhering to the Cardinal Rule of Conduct and holding others accountable to the policy. Ensuring that the yard is organized and product is easily accessible to load trucks or pull orders as requested by customers. Properly storing product in yard area. Setting up process where oldest manufactured product is delivered first. Continuously improving yard functions and storage by implementing processes that ensure efficiency and accuracy. Overseeing environmental, health and safety (EHS) activities at the branch. Following Jensen's safety policies and procedures. Scheduling safety training in conjunction with Corporate EHS and conducting toolbox talks. Performing inside and/or outside sales as directed. Scheduling the delivery of products to job sites in a timely and efficient manner. Contacting approved outside line haulers for flatbed loads as required. Assisting in periodic cost checks against other haulers. Ensuring proper Department of Transportation (DOT) record keeping per DOT standards. Ensuring drivers are completing daily inspection reports and deficient items are repaired in a timely manner. Monitoring compliance with state and federal meal and rest breaks. Working with HR to resolve ongoing violations. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate will bring to this position a demonstrated history of operations excellence, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Additional candidate attributes include but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • 5 – 10 years of related experience. Operations experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with customers.
  • Ability to interface with vendors and other outside contractors.
  • Basic understanding of dispatch and logistics function.
  • Familiar with DOT requirements.
  • Familiar with the operation of heavy equipment, boom trucks and other commercial vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Email, Spreadsheet, Word Processor).
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
