About The Position

Amentum is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced candidate to fill a Site Manager position in Springfield, VA in support of a Department of War (DoW) customer. The Site Manager is responsible for the management and performance of daily contractor activities at this location and interfacing with the Government customer on a daily basis. The Site Manager serves as the first line supervisor for all contractors at this site and reports directly to the Program Manager (PM). In this role, you will assist the customer with managing key organizational processes, synchronize contractor work activities to support the customer’s mission priorities, and ensure all contract work and deliverables for this site are completed in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and any other governing documents under this contract. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to express thoughts clearly and logically, both through written and verbal means. A successful candidate will be able to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, possess attention to detail to ensure quality of our products and services, and provide clear direction to employees and careful oversight of their activities.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility (completed adjudication). Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Must have at least 10 years of management experience leading cross-functional teams with a diverse portfolio.
  • Experience working with DoW or equivalent Executive and Staff level employees at Squadron/Battalion level, Business Line level, or higher.
  • Demonstrated communicative, managerial, and organizational skills necessary to effectively manage site operations.
  • Experience with government contracting processes and procedures.
  • Experience with management and execution of business operating funds.
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft applications (specifically SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with senior leadership (company and customer), work independently, and as part of team.
  • Must interact with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Management, Engineering, or STEM related field.
  • 12 or more years of related experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience working in/with the U.S. military, especially within the Personnel Recover (PR) mission area.
  • Broad experience with a variety of disciplines (IT, Cybersecurity, Admin, Security, Finance, Operations and Engineering Support).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as overall manager and administrator for all on-site contract support efforts and external contractor activities based out of this location.
  • Support all financial matters within the site, as directed by the PM, to include enforcing financial controls, mitigation of overtime, and other financially related tasks to achieve budget execution goals.
  • Assist the PM in keeping the Government customer informed on contractor activities in furtherance of the contract.
  • Manage employee activities, performance, and schedules.
  • Ensure employees maintain compliance with company, contract, and customer policy/guidance.
  • Screen candidates and participate in interviews of prospective employees to assist in the selection of new employees.
  • Recommend and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and appropriate disciplinary action as needed.
  • Provide guidance and develop employee performance goals annually and throughout the year as work requirements change.
  • Coordinate with Amentum functional support areas to ensure efficient employee and contract performance. (Security, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits)
  • Perform first level approval of expense reports, ensuring compliance with any applicable policy/guidelines and correct accounting codes are used for billing.
  • Review customer tasks for contract support to ensure they are within the scope of the PWS, and coordinate with the PM to ensure that appropriate resources, personnel, and funding have been identified and are available for the effort.
  • Support the Amentum Quality Management Program and provide quality control (standards, consistency, processes, and inspections) on work performed, products, and deliverables to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain a deliverable report review and submission tracking process for the site.
  • Establish, support, and maintain a safe, healthy, productive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
  • Report any issues to the PM and assist in providing resolution.
  • Support and promote Amentum’s Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
  • Ensure compliance with all government, commercial, and company safety requirements related to the site, workspaces, and employee activities.
  • Work with PM to report and investigate any safety incidents IAW with the company’s safety reporting and monitoring process.
  • Develop, review, and update customer organization documentation used to regulate organizational processes and operating policies (e.g., SOPs, Process Guides, etc.).
  • Interface daily with the PM for guidance, reports, briefings, and mission planning/validation.
  • Serve as Project Manager and lead on-site efforts for cross-organizational initiatives and process improvement efforts as needed.
  • Work with other Site Managers under this contract as needed to coordinate development and support of shared government and company policies, procedures, business processes, and contract requirements.
  • Utilize company and customer SharePoint portals to manage day-to-day operations and various business processes, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
