Role Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our brand new, state-of-the-art site, to new heights of success. The GM will be responsible for overseeing all operations, strategic planning, and inside sales initiatives to ensure the site's continued growth and profitability. The GM will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the 5-year strategic plan and leading the site Management Team by using their knowledge and experience to implement the necessary practices and processes to achieve increased performance and long-term profitable growth. This position is also responsible for creating vision and strategy for the site by inspiring and motivating the workforce and developing a strong performance culture, whilst promoting inclusion and diversity and enhancing IMI’s Health and Safety and Environmental strategy. Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role as a General Manager, with a track record of success in driving business growth and operational excellence.
  • Highly commercial and results driven with skills in managing both core process and bringing a creative and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Full understanding and proven ability to enhance revenue, margins and operating profit to meet near term and long-term goals.
  • Experience within multinational Groups with exposure to manufacturing operations and proven record of success in business development, sales and marketing, operations, engineering, project management and supply chain, ideally in an engineered business.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards is desirable.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage change and ambiguity.
  • A strong growth mindset - proven to deliver results not just operate at the strategic or theoretical level.
  • Experience in a metrics focused environment including weekly and monthly quarterly reporting and analysis.
  • Proven track record of significant change leadership and of delivering results and improved performance combined with the ability to inspire and manage through a strong influencing style.
  • High degree of integrity, always prepared to do the right thing.

  • Experience in the Valves and actuating/control systems for critical Applications in Power Generation Industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide strong, visionary leadership to the site team, fostering a high-performance culture by enhancing performance excellence, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to achieve short-term and long-term goals, aligned with the company's overall objectives. Develop and implement a 5-year strategic plan to deliver desired market growth.
  • Operational Management: Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, driving efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards to meet production targets.
  • Deliver Business Objectives: Lead the site in achieving cost, delivery, and performance goals aligned with corporate strategy, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer commitments.
  • Optimize Resources and Processes: Implement continuous improvement initiatives across production, supply chain, and maintenance functions to maximize productivity and minimize operational risks.
  • Financial Management: Manage the site's budget, financial performance, and resources effectively to maximize profitability and optimize operational efficiency. Full management of the companies P&L. Direct the organization to ensure all financial controls are in place and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis is timely and accurate.
  • Health and Safety: Establish and maintain a safety culture that leads to zero harm in the workplace.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Talent Management: build a high-performing team by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent, providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for career advancement. Assess the levels and capability of the workforce on a regular basis and implement programs to develop employees, fill future capability gaps and improve productivity.
  • Culture Development: Create a work environment where employees take pride in customer satisfaction, business performance and inclusion and engagement.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement performance metrics and KPIs to monitor and evaluate the site's performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. Drive the implementation and management of core processes (eg Internal Financial Controls, Risk, Lean, Talent).
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges to the site's success and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
