About The Position

We are seeking a Site Inspector to join our team in Santa Fe or Las Vegas, NM. We are gearing up for a high-volume hiring effort in support of the Hermit’s Peak / Calf Canyon claims operation through DHS. This project is part of a major federal effort supporting the FEMA Hermit’s Peak / Calf Canyon Claims Office, which was established to compensate New Mexico residents impacted by the Hermit’s Peak and Calf Canyon wildfires and subsequent floods. This work directly serves the communities of northern New Mexico, helping families, businesses, and local landowners recover and rebuild. Conducts field inspections of damaged properties and mitigation work to support compensation recommendations. Documents impacts from fires, floods, and land loss with photos, measurements, coordinates, and Xactimate values. Your role Perform onsite inspections, collect photos and evidence. Document damages and mitigation work accurately. Produce inspection reports using Xactimate. Validate loss eligibility and required repairs. Upload completed reports within required time frames.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 10+ years in construction inspection, insurance adjusting, disaster assessment, or damage valuation.
• Must be proficient and have a high degree of knowledge on how to use Xactimate to accurately structure POLs to provide adequate compensation for claimants to rebuild.
• Must be proficient in assessing property and fire-related and flood-related damage accurately, which involves understanding the extent of damage, the required repairs, required documentation, and associated costs.
• Disaster-related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses, damages, repairs, and replacement costs. Must be an expert in using Xactimate software.
• Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and other technology tools that facilitate claim processing, documentation, and communication.
• Expert Xactimate use, strong report writing, accurate valuation, ability to work outdoors and interact professionally with claimants.
• Customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge and ability to explain policy and regulations to claimants, FEMA staff, and other stakeholders.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a FEMA Badge (Public Trust clearance). This includes passing a background investigation, fingerprinting, and completing required FEMA security forms.
• Offer of employment is contingent upon ability to obtain/maintain FEMA Badge and DHS clearance.
