About The Position

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Site Field Inspector to support construction and infrastructure projects throughout the Naples, Florida metropolitan statistical area. The Site Inspector performs technical field inspections to ensure construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, codes, and applicable regulations. This role requires frequent field presence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and public agency representatives.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of construction inspection practices, materials, and methods.
  • Familiarity with roadway, drainage, utility, and site development construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with mobile inspection tools, tablets, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating with a larger project team.
  • Ability to identify construction deficiencies and communicate them professionally.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of construction site inspection, construction, or related technical field experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of construction activities related to roadways, drainage, utilities, structures, and site development projects.
  • Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Document inspection activities, observations, and deficiencies through written reports, photographs, and electronic inspection systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to communicate findings and resolve field issues.
  • Observe construction methods and materials to confirm conformance with project requirements.
  • Assist with monitoring schedules, sequencing of work, and general construction progress.
  • Report non‑conforming work and assist in tracking corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate daily inspection records in accordance with NOVA and client requirements.
  • Support project closeout documentation as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by NOVA project management.
