About The Position

The Site Engineering, Reliability & Manufacturing Technology Manager is responsible for leading the site’s multidisciplinary engineering organization, including process/chemical, electrical/instrumentation, reliability, and manufacturing technology engineers, as well as the maintenance organization and associated technical specialists. This role directs all maintenance execution, oversees asset reliability performance, and serves as the technical steward of the site’s process and equipment design basis. The manager leads the development and implementation of maintenance and reliability programs, ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, oversees capital justification and execution, and advances the use of digital tools, data, and automation. The role partners closely with Operations, EHS, Supply Chain, Finance, and Corporate Engineering/Technology groups to drive uptime, capacity, quality, and cost improvements while strengthening the site’s technical capability and mechanical integrity systems. This position serves as the site Engineering Manager of record.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related Engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of combined experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Experience operating within PSM-regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated application of structured reliability methodologies (RCM, PdM, RCA, FMEA).
  • Proven experience managing capital projects and supporting commissioning/startup.
  • Ability to analyze data and leverage CMMS, SCADA/MES, or related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as site steward for process and equipment design basis; maintain technical documentation and standards.
  • Lead and coordinate engineering problem solving across process/chemical, electrical/instrumentation, reliability, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis, bad actor elimination, and loss reduction.
  • Sponsor and support hazard evaluations, Management of Change reviews, and mechanical integrity planning.
  • Develop and maintain a 1–5 year technology and reliability roadmap that aligns with business strategy.
  • Identify modernization opportunities across automation/controls, predictive maintenance, digital data systems, and engineering standards.
  • Lead the site’s maintenance function, including preventive, predictive, corrective, and autonomous maintenance programs.
  • Ensure safe and disciplined execution of maintenance activities, including contractor management and permitting (LOTO, confined space, hot work, and related programs).
  • Oversee CMMS optimization, data integrity, backlog prioritization, job plans, BOMs, and work flow governance.
  • Implement reliability frameworks including criticality analysis, RCM, condition-based monitoring, and storeroom/MRO strategies.
  • Drive maintenance KPI performance, including MTBF, MTTR, PM/PdM compliance, backlog aging, and maintenance cost effectiveness.
  • Lead and direct site engineering support for capital projects from identification through commissioning and startup.
  • Ensure front-end loading quality, risk identification, value engineering, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Assign and direct discipline engineers to support process evaluation, controls integration, constructability, and commissioning readiness.
  • Lead the site’s engineering organization, including process/chemical, electrical/instrumentation, reliability, and MT engineers.
  • Direct maintenance supervisors, planners/schedulers, and key technical specialists.
  • Establish skills matrices, performance standards, and development plans for all technical roles.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop talent; lead succession planning for critical competencies.
  • Establish clear expectations, decision-rights, and technical governance for engineering rigor.
