Gonzalez Companies is a partner-managed firm providing Planning, Design, and Construction Management Services to Water, Sewer, and Utility Districts; DOTs; and municipalities. Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio (preferred).
  • Strong technical background in site/civil engineering, with expertise in drainage and stormwater management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a department or project team, including mentoring staff and managing resources.
  • Proven programmatic client experience, with success managing multi-project or multi-year client relationships.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills – able to articulate detailed engineering concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of business development, strategic networking, or developing a book of business.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with big-picture planning and team management.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in technical site/civil engineering tasks—including grading, drainage, utilities, and site development—while guiding project teams to successful delivery.
  • Serve as a point of contact for key programmatic clients, building long-term partnerships and ensuring consistent, high-quality service across multiple projects.
  • Helping grow the department by bringing in new work, strengthening existing relationships, developing proposals, and expanding your own book of business.
  • Manage team resources, workload forecasting, staffing needs, and project assignments to ensure efficient use of talent and timely delivery.
  • Oversee and support project execution from concept through construction, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Work with firm leadership to align departmental goals with company-wide initiatives and long-term growth strategies.
