About The Position

VHB’s growing Manasquan, NJ office is seeking an experienced Site Civil Engineer to support our Land Development practice. Requirements

  • Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations
  • Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering required, master’s degree a plus
  • 5-8+ years of site/civil design experience required
  • Knowledge of NJ stormwater management required
  • Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office
  • NJ PE license expected or ability to obtain within 6 months

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GIS Systems is a plus – GIS is one of the tools we use to create better projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large-scale mixed-use developments, industrial, commercial, office, institutional, healthcare and residential
  • Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents
  • Prepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Oversee and engage in the development of existing client relationships, including conducting periodic meetings, developing proposals and budgets, and gathering feedback with teammates
  • Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, and staffing needs, while collaborating with clients and teammates across the organization
  • Prepare agreements and manage the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
