As ASEC’s Simulator Aircrew Subject Matter Expert (SME), you’ll play a key role in supporting the Fleet Project Team (FPT) and advancing Navy readiness. Your mission: ensure F/A-18 aircrew receive the most capable and tactically relevant simulator-based training available. In this position, you’ll collaborate with active-duty Navy F/A-18 aircrew, government civilians from the Naval Air Warfare Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD), and Program Management Air (PMA) offices to enhance and sustain cutting-edge training systems that keep our warfighters mission-ready. Key Responsibilities: Define and manage simulator requirements for new Operational Flight Program (OFP H-builds) and System Configuration Sets (SCS) supporting the Tactical Operational Flight Trainer (TOFT) and Special Mission Trainer (SMT). Collaborate with a team of subject matter experts under the leadership of the FA/EA-18 Fleet Project Team Chairman to develop simulator requirements ensuring procedural and tactical concurrency with fleet aircraft. Develop test plans and conduct developmental and acceptance testing for new simulators and OFP/SCS loads at multiple locations, including Boeing (St. Louis, MO), CAE (Arlington, TX), and various Navy and Marine Corps fleet sites. Work with local aircrew and contractor support teams to identify, investigate, and report trainer software discrepancies to industry partners. Provide mission planning support for TOFT and SMT devices. Note: This position will require up to 20% travel to contractor and fleet locations in support of system development and testing.
