POSITION SUMMARY: The Simulation Operations Specialist I performs a wide range of operational and technical support functions essential to the daily activities of the simulation center. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of simulation equipment, task trainers, and audiovisual systems to ensure the successful delivery of experiential learning events. The technician also contributes to the design, execution, and evaluation of simulation activities, learning objectives, and course outcomes so they align with curricular benchmarks and OSF HealthCare educational standards. The Simulation Operations Specialist maintains an accurate inventory of simulation equipment, supplies, and consumables to support efficient and seamless simulation operations. The role provides basic troubleshooting of technology systems, simulators, and supporting software to minimize disruptions during training. In addition, the technician collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and Simulation Operations Specialists to ensure high-quality, evidence-based simulation education that reflects current best practices and promotes innovation in healthcare training. This position supports OSF HealthCare key results under OSF Innovation by fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and excellence in clinical education through simulation. The Simulation Technician I also performs other duties as assigned to advance simulation center operations and enhance learner outcomes.
