Simulation Engineer

Electra AeroManassas, VA

About The Position

At Electra, we are developing the EL9, a nine-passenger, hybrid-electric aircraft capable of ultra-short takeoffs and landings, enabling direct, quiet, point-to-point regional travel. Headquartered in Manassas, VA, Electra is backed by Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, and Safran, and is pursuing FAA Part 23 type certification with significant intent to purchase from operators. The company is a team of approximately 100 people, aiming for first EL9 test flights in 2027 and certification by late 2029 or 2030. As a Simulation Engineer, this early-career role involves building and maintaining software and hardware-in-the-loop (SIL/HIL) simulation environments crucial for validating the EL9's systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to develop these labs for flight controls, avionics, and hybrid propulsion, gaining significant program impact and rapid growth.
