Silicon Manufacturing Decision Systems Lead

Google LLCAustin, TX
40d$183,000 - $271,000

About The Position

Be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You'll contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. As a Senior Silicon Manufacturing lead, you will build high quality manufacturing data infrastructure that will be used to ramp silicon products into High Volume Manufacturing (HVM). This entails an in-depth understanding of data collected across the manufacturing flow from foundry through finished SOC's into the warehouse. Understanding of data center telemetry and health data as pertaining to the SOC's is also needed in order to build a comprehensive data decision system that will enable the engineering, operations and supply chain teams to proactively identify problems and corrective actions scenarios. The system will also enable real time data view, reporting and indicators to guide the execution teams. In this role, you will need to integrate data across multiple foundry's and OSAT's cover FAB metrology, assembly mereology, CP/FT/SLT performance metrics (e.g., yield/test time), equipment utilization and cycle time tracking performance to target, and the system is expected to scale to incorporate AI/ML model applications to drive cycle time, cost and quality improvements. You will be part of the team selecting and managing the suppliers who provide us foundry, wafer probe, assembly and final test capabilities to manufacture Google cloud SOC's. You will be required to create the end-to-end silicon manufacturing infrastructure solutions, where the focus is on the manufacturing of complex HPC compute and AI SOC's. The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what's possible. We empower Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale, efficiency, reliability and velocity. Our customers include Googlers, Google Cloud customers, and billions of Google users worldwide. We're the driving force behind Google's groundbreaking innovations, empowering the development of our cutting-edge AI models, delivering unparalleled computing power to global services, and providing the essential platforms that enable developers to build the future. From software to hardware our teams are shaping the future of world-leading hyperscale computing, with key teams working on the development of our TPUs, Vertex AI for Google Cloud, Google Global Networking, Data Center operations, systems research, and much more.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in SoC manufacturing development and production ramp.
  • 10 years of experience managing production KPI's with foundry, Outsourced Assembly and Test's (OSAT), equipment and turnkey chip suppliers.
  • 10 years of experience working with semiconductor fabrication technologies, yield analysis, process lifecycles, and driving cost and quality initiatives in production.
  • 6 years of people management experience leading technical teams and developing employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related Engineering field.
  • Experience in foundry, OSAT operations and output management including yield improvements, diagnosing/resolving equipment related yield losses, test flow/insertion optimizations.
  • Experience in applying AI/ML techniques to leverage trends from wafer acceptance testing, physical design and test yield data to drive test process optimizations.
  • Experience across test insertions from chip probe to final test/SLT to finished goods, and with cycle time optimizations across the full manufacturing flow.
  • Experience in SPC.
  • Knowledge of probability and statistical fundamentals for data analysis and process control design.

Responsibilities

  • Define, lead, and build the SOC data decision systems needed for SoC products high volume manufacturing operations across foundry, chip probe, assembly, burn in, final test, and system level test to drive proactive problem identification and solution options to ensure on time SOC delivery at high quality.
  • Use demand forecasts and manufacturing data to drive readiness across manufacturing supply chain.
  • Create real time data views, reporting and indicators to enable the execution teams. Do this by creating necessary performance to metrics across yield, test time, cycle time, DPPM and equipment utilization across the full manufacturing flow.
  • Utilize AI/ML models and data analysis tools to identify trends that impact product delivery schedules and recommend corrective actions.
  • Accomplish these goals in a cross-functional environment working across silicon operations, supply chain, sourcing, engineering and external supplier teams.
