The National Systems Group (NSG) serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch. Within NSG, the Electronic Programs Division (EPD) serves as signals intelligence (SIGINT) domain experts to define, deliver, and analyze performance for SIGINT systems. The Ground Systems team resides within EPD, delivering expertise in ground system engineering and analysis to inform SIGINT ground architecture and acquisition. As the SIGINT Ground Systems Engineering Manager (Systems Director – Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering), you will manage the Ground Systems team. You will supervise and lead a talented workforce and oversee engineering and technical reach-back resources. Your team will help to shape the future of the SIGINT ground enterprise and will help enable the integration and testing of current acquisitions. You will collaborate with multiple program office counterparts and Engineering & Technology Group (ETG) teams within The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace). This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, Virginia which requires 100% onsite work. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead the Ground Systems team, providing & implementing strategic vision and ensuring delivery of timely, high quality, impactful Aerospace products to inform critical customer decisions. Oversee the execution of approximately 10 PTS (professional technical staff years of technical effort), prioritizing resolution of the hardest ground and communication systems engineering problems and leveraging Aerospace’s differentiating capabilities for the benefit of the program. Establish strategic partnerships with ETG, including the development of technical bench strength, and advocate for technical resources as needed. Assist the Principal Director on program level administrative matters including organizational structure, staff and resource needs, PTS planning and estimates of other direct costs. Direct involvement in the development of ground and communication system assessments to communicate program risks to customers and higher-level management. Coordinate weekly communications with senior customer leadership to provide awareness and status of Aerospace’s key activities. Collaborate across the Aerospace organization to bring enterprise perspectives to bear during resolution of program challenges.
