About The Position

The Non-CDL Shuttle Driver, under general supervision of the Shuttle Supervisor, provide safe and courteous and on-time transportation to resort guests and staff to and from local and regional (Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, USA and Montreal, Canada) transportation hubs and terminals such as airports, bus stations and rail stations, as well as tourist attractions, restaurants and events in the United States and Canada. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned) Must be able to communicate by radio and/or cell telephone. Must be able to provide verbal and written reports and respond to operational issues per prescribed policy. Must have a clean driving record and a valid Vermont Driver License. Must be able to perform pre-and-post-trip vehicle inspections, cleaning and servicing to assist in maintaining vehicles in a safe operating condition. Must be able to follow an on-demand schedule of pick-ups and drop-offs at transportation hubs and terminals. Must adhere to traffic regulations, collect fares and provide verbal information to the public regarding routes, schedules and transfer points. Must be willing to greet every customer in a friendly, professional manner. Must have or be willing to develop a working knowledge of the history and amenities Jay Peak Resort and regional points of interest in the US and Canada. Must be flexible with work shifts/hours, including overtime, to service late departs and arrivals, peak volume periods, vacated shifts, and other emergency situations. Must follow all Jay Peak, Inc. work rules and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and through management’s instruction. Must be willing to listen to customer complaints and direct information to the Shuttle Supervisor. Must provide, maintain and ensure complete customer service for the all guests and staff members utilizing the service. May be asked to perform any additional duties and special tasks as assigned. In the absence of the Shuttle Supervisor, all drivers report to the Security Supervisor on duty.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid Vermont Driver’s License.
