About The Position
The Shredder Picker position involves visually identifying and sorting various materials from metal shredder conveyor systems. During periods of shredder downtime, the role includes performing cleanup and maintenance duties. These duties encompass shoveling debris, sweeping debris, equipment wash down, greasing, and providing assistance with miscellaneous machine maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications
- Must be able to stand at picking conveyor for extended periods
- Must wear minimum PPE at all times including: Hi visibility shirt/vest, Hard hat, Safety glasses, Gloves, Safety-toe shoes
Responsibilities
- Visually identify and sort (“pick”) various materials from metal shredder conveyor systems
- Perform cleanup & maintenance duties during shredder downtime
- Shoveling debris
- Sweeping debris
- Equipment wash down
- Greasing
- Miscellaneous machine maintenance assistance
