Job Summary Position- Shoreside Mechanic/Equipment Operator: Shoreside Mechanic/Equipment Operator will report to Operations Manager and/or Port Captain as assigned. This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of shoreside and marine based assets, with experience as an operator of heavy equipment. This is a field-based position; the location for position is Prudhoe Bay, AK.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand operation manuals, drawings, schematics, and prints
  • Ability to perform simple math; add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure. Fractions, decimals, percentages, rates and ratios
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to have good time management
  • Ability to always work safely
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience
  • Must pass USCG/DOT Physical and UA
  • Must hold valid TWIC
  • Must hold valid Driver License

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and Fabrication
  • Shipyard/Vessel Construction experience
  • Merchant Marine- Tug and Barge experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs as needed for shoreside and marine assets. Various parts of rolling stock, pumps, motors, engines, generators, hydraulics, electrical, winches, etc.
  • Verifies the functionality of repairs of said equipment, ensures proper performance and compiles of manufactures specifications.
  • Replace and/or repair damaged or worn parts
  • Diagnoses faults or any malfunctions to determine necessary repairs to electrical components
  • Repairs, adjustments or replacement of pneumatic, hydraulic equipment
  • Assembly of gear systems, alignments and gearing
  • Examine for abnormal wear and tear using gauges and proper metering
  • Operate and inspection of heavy equipment
  • Schedules for maintenance for shoreside and marine assets
  • Perform maintenances for shoreside and marine assets
  • Maintains accurate records for maintenance services performed
  • Maintains clean work environment
  • Assists as needed with vessels and barges during shipyard period
  • Understanding the concept of rigging and lashing
  • Familiar with crane operations and procedures
  • Experienced operator heavy equipment (medium/large wheel loaders, heavy lift trucks, telehandlers, skid steers, excavators, dozers, etc.) of various make and models
  • Experienced roustabout- Other duties will be assigned as needed
