The Shop Technician works with the Shop Supervisor to coordinate scheduling of all work guaranteeing excellent customer service and production efficiency, assists in meeting overall operational goals and objectives, and works independently when required and is able to make complicated judgments related to the work being performed.

Requirements

Strong Mechanical aptitude.
Broad electrical technical capability in servicing and repairing distribution transformers.
Mig Welding.
Fossing Copper.
Welding of AL Bus Work.
Utilizing all fabrication equipment for tank modification.
Wiring of Control Boxes.
Full Testing of transformers and devices.
Application of multiple styles of paints/bondo/finishing products.
Basic computer skills including email, internet, etc.
Decision making skills.
Strong people skills.
Ability to drive company vehicles and/or use personal vehicle on company business.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
Expected to work overtime during periods of peak demand.
Required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety footwear and safety clothing.

Responsibilities

Works to maintain the quality and on time shipment of all products and services to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Assigns raw materials level per order to accomplish budget requirements.
Keeps surplus and raw materials inventory accurately.
Provides technical support to sales staff and all shop employees.
Cleans work area daily.
Participates in ongoing process improvement through team meetings.
Additional or different duties may be assigned occasionally at employer’s discretion.
