About The Position

NOV Texas Oil Tools, the leading specialty manufacturer and supplier of well control equipment for intervention operations, is seeking a Service Technician for its Odessa, Texas location.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of mechanical assembly; basic blueprint reading skills and pressure control equipment (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Ability to pass a physical, drug screen and background check.
  • Must be willing and able to work any overtime as required.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend/stoop, push/pull and repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with Coiled Tubing Pressure Control Equipment (CTPCE) and fully conversant with the assembly drawings and bill of materials – using only approved versions.
  • Responsible for the safe assembly, testing and repair of assigned pressure control (CTPCE) under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Produce product in a manner as to improve efficiency and achieve productivity and delivery goals.
  • Notify the supervisor of any mistakes, omissions, or alterations necessary to drawings or bill of materials.
  • Upkeep of tools and toolbox, reporting any losses or breakages to the supervisor and keeping the toolbox locked when not in use.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
