About The Position

The Paint Shop Tech I is primarily responsible for either preparing surfaces for coating applications or post-finish processing of all painted parts. Assists the painters, team, and other departments as needed.

Requirements

Attention to detail with the ability to see and become attentive to imperfections for quality purposes
Self-starter – ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrate best practices to follow all safe procedures and utilize all required PPE
Basic knowledge of hand tools
Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions
Reliable and consistent attendance, including punctuality
Ability to move frequently throughout the work cell and shop floor
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, and work up to 12-hour shifts, with occasional overtime as required

Responsibilities

Utilize hand and power tools to prepare surfaces for coating application and for post-finish processing of finished goods per our SOP
Clean, hang parts on racks, and move racks in and out of the paint booth to assist the painter as needed
Inspect parts for pre and post-paint application for quality control
Package and box finished parts for shipping
Assist other Paint Shop Technicians as needed to support production flow
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 6S standards
Communicate questions or concerns to supervisors to ensure tasks are understood and completed correctly
Professionally perform all duties, working well with others, providing and receiving feedback, and treating all team members with respect
