About The Position

H&K Equipment is the premier supplier of forklifts, container handlers, railcar movers, utility vehicles, and more in Pittsburgh and the tristate area. Located minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and with additional facilities in West Virginia, we sell, rent, service, and rebuild the most unique selection of custom and heavy-duty material handling equipment in the industry. We are known for technicians and in-house capabilities that regularly tackle jobs that no other shop can handle. We are seeking a Shop Service Technician with equipment experience to join our Pittsburgh-area team for immediate hire to service various types of material handling equipment and forklifts at our shop in Coraopolis, PA. This position will require a candidate who can work with limited supervision and has the ability to think and operate independently. Must have your own tools. Requirements

  • Hydraulic and diesel experience necessary.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical exam, and background check.
  • Must have your own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical aptitude preferred
  • Prior mechanical and technical experience on large mobile equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of gas, LP, diesel engines and emission systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and service heavy lift equipment (diesel, electric, or LP) to diagnose technical problems.
  • Determine required repairs.
  • Maintain equipment service records.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Test mechanical equipment after repair or assembly to guarantee proper performance and compliance with the manufacturer's specifications.
