About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shop Painter to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating the paint line to coat steel fittings and other metal parts according to company and customer quality standards. The Shop Painter will ensure all parts are properly prepared, painted, cured, and finished to meet safety and production requirements.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of paint application methods and surface preparation techniques.
• Ability to follow written instructions, work orders, and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Team player with good communication and work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in industrial painting, paint line operation, or a manufacturing environment preferred (will train the right candidate).

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor paint line equipment to paint steel fittings and other components.
• Prepare parts for painting, including cleaning, masking, and hanging items on the line.
• Mix, apply, and maintain paint in accordance with specifications and safety guidelines.
• Inspect finished parts for coverage, quality, and defects; make adjustments as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of paint line equipment, spray guns, and booths.
• Follow work orders, safety procedures, and quality standards at all times.
• Assist with loading/unloading painted parts and organizing them for further processing or shipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
