About The Position

Farmington, NY • Full-Time • $70,000–$80,000/year Leonard’s Express is looking for a proven Diesel Shop Manager — someone who knows how to run a shop, lead technicians, and keep a fleet in top condition. If you’ve managed a diesel shop or served as a foreman and you’re ready to take ownership of a high-performing facility, this is your opportunity. This isn’t a “sit behind a desk” role. Requirements

  • Experience as a diesel shop manager or foreman (required)
  • Strong leadership presence — you set expectations and hold the team accountable
  • Ability to coach, train, and develop technicians
  • Advanced knowledge of Class A heavy diesel trucks and reefer trailers
  • Strong communication skills with drivers, techs, and operations
  • Scheduling, workflow planning, and productivity management experience
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Excel
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TMT, TTP, or shop scheduling systems
  • technical schooling or ASE training is a plus
  • CDL-A is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day shop operations for a busy Class A truck & trailer facility
  • A team of technicians who rely on you for guidance, training, and support
  • Communication between the shop, drivers, and operations to keep freight moving
  • Safety, quality, and productivity standards that protect our people and our brand
  • Scheduling, workflow planning, and performance metrics to maximize shop output
  • Parts inventory oversight, stock control, and purchasing decisions
  • A clean, organized, professional shop environment that reflects the quality of your team
