Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy-duty truck or trailer repair and maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a maintenance or logistics environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to learn company-specific systems (e.g., AS400, TMT).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OSHA/EPA regulations, parts inventory systems, tire management, and recruiting/hiring processes.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and promote the company vision and culture across all shop operations.
  • Directly supervise Maintenance Foremen, Supervisors, Leads, and support staff to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
  • Oversee parts purchasing to ensure cost-effective sourcing, vendor compliance, and inventory accuracy, including barcoding and bin labeling per company policy.
  • Ensure use of national account vendors for all parts purchasing, limiting non-approved vendors to emergency-only situations; manage monthly 90-day non-usage returns.
  • Review and verify all repair orders for accuracy, including proper use of 3Cs (Complaint, Cause, Correction), Standard Repair Times (SRTs), SOPs, and warranty coding.
  • Schedule ongoing technical and professional development training for technicians and supervisory staff, including vendor-led sessions.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the shop and yard for compliance with OSHA, EPA, federal, state, and company regulations, including internal audit standards.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes to build a high-performing, growth-minded maintenance team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
