About The Position

Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking a Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of its electrical warehouse(s) in Caldwell, ID. This role is crucial for managing inventory, tools, equipment, and company vehicles assigned to the shop, ensuring efficient and safe operations. AET is a premier West Coast Commercial, industrial electrical contractor, control, and automation group, part of Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC, which specializes in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal across multiple states. The ideal candidate will have strong warehouse logistics experience, a proven ability to manage materials, coordinate logistics, and lead shop operations in a fast-paced environment. The position also requires occasional support to industrial cleaning warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License required and ability to be insured under the company’s driving insurance plan
  • 3+ years of experience managing assets in a warehouse, yard, or shop management (lumber, construction, or similar industry)
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and material handling
  • Experience managing tools, equipment, or fleet assets
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (or willingness to obtain certification)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and basic computer programs
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain a valid DOT physical examination, including annual/periodic recertification, as required for the role
  • Must be able to successfully complete baseline and annual/periodic audiometric testing as a condition of employment

  • Basic knowledge of electrical materials is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Develop and maintain a tool tracking system to ensure accountability across crews
  • Perform routine audits of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Coordinate repairs, calibration, and replacement of damaged or missing equipment
  • Standardize tool kits and equipment packages for field crews
  • Forecast material and supply needs based on upcoming projects and historical usage
  • Establish and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing
  • Track usage trends and identify opportunities to reduce waste or overstock
  • Maintain fleet logs including mileage, inspections, and service schedules
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with vendors
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment meet company safety and compliance standards
  • Track and report any misuse, damage, or incidents
  • Stage and prepare materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming jobs
  • Coordinate urgent material requests and troubleshooting field shortages
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Foreman to anticipate job needs
  • Support mobilization and demobilization of job sites
  • Manage day-to-day receiving and returns as needed
  • Design and maintain an efficient shop layout for workflow and accessibility
  • Implement systems for labeling, storage, and organization of materials and equipment
  • Ensure cleanliness and professional appearance of the shop and yard
  • Provide operational and inventory support to the industrial cleaning/Waste management/ Taurus Power and Controls warehouse as needed
  • Coordinate shared resources between divisions to maximize utilization
  • Assist during peak workloads, large projects, and/or emergency response situations
  • Ensure crews are up to date with site requirements
  • Maintain and equip vehicles for certain site requirements
  • Implement system to track and keep up to date safety and training requirements per site/customer
  • Other duties as assigned
