The Shop Lead is responsible for performing repairs on class 8 equipment while supporting Shop Foreman is essential shop administration. Responsibilities While working as a mechanic: Perform repairs to equipment as assigned. Inspect equipment during the repair process to identify any needed additional repairs. Notify service writer of any found additional needed repairs. While working as a foreman: Monitor equipment repairs as they’re being made to ensure best practices are being followed and repairs are progressing in a timely manner. Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have a valid driver’s license Must be able to understand, communicate, read, and write the English language. Must have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and 95 lbs. on a frequent basis to mount tires. Must have physical ability to climb, bend and stoop. Must have physical ability to work while on feet at all times, ability to stand for long periods of time. Must have tools to perform skills for this level Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
