What You Will Do: Pratt & Whitney’s Shop Inspector works independently or under limited supervision and will provide aircraft engine maintenance/repair and/or quick turn aircraft engine maintenance within our Dallas based shop. In this role, you may provide engine troubleshooting, aircraft engine repairs, aircraft engine module removal and replacement, and line maintenance work scopes (including LRU removal and replacement). Responsibilities also include inspection and subsequent return to service of those maintenance activities while developing positive relationships with internal and external customers through outstanding customer awareness. In this role you will play an important role within our P&W Line Maintenance Services (LMS) organization FAA 145 repair station. The focus of LMS is to provide our customers with increased value through alternative and flexible tailored maintenance solutions. Effectively and efficiently perform borescope inspections of commercial aircraft engines and provide blade blending as appropriate. Create a detailed and comprehensive report of the inspection and findings associated with the inspection. Perform aircraft engine maintenance on all models of Pratt & Whitney Commercial aircraft engines. Conduct preliminary, in process and final inspections as well as hidden damage inspection (as applicable) and record the results as per applicable procedures. Perform incoming inspection of parts/consumables/shelf life items/chemicals/tools (as applicable) and record the results of those inspections as per applicable procedures. Approve articles for return to service through issuance of FAA Form 8130-3 after: 1) The Repair Station performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations on an article/engine, 2) an authorized inspector inspects the article/engine on which the Repair station has performed work and determines it to be airworthy with respect to the work performed, and 3) The maintenance record entry required by FAA Federal Regulations, as appropriate, has been made. May serve as a Job Lead for engines worked in the LMS shop which involves setting the cadence for the team assigned to an engine/work task and ensuring an engine or work task is completed on time and on budget. Understand and follow appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Engine Shop Manual procedures and/or other approved technical data when performing maintenance. Complete and/or oversee other job assignments as delegated by General Manager, Quality Manager, or other staff as appropriate. Assist the team in producing first in class aircraft engine maintenance turnaround time/response time through team collaboration and execution of Raytheon's CORE operating system and continuous improvement processes. The position is based at the Dallas TX site reporting directly to the Site Operations Leader. This is an on-site, night shift position with typical hours of 2:00pm – 10:30pm.
