Job Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting parts and audit processes from the Production Department according to specifications. The QA Inspector also inspects rework parts/materials from customers to determine if parts can be restocked.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English
  • Ability to write basic communication to understand on-the-job work standards in English
  • Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and/or small group.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Good arithmetic (basic math) skills are required
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 + years of quality inspection in a manufacturing environment required

  • Mechanical aptitude desired

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of incoming material and manufactured components using testing equipment.
  • Inspect finished product according to our surface quality criteria identifying and separating defects so they do not go to our customers.
  • Rework or reject finished products as required.
  • Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
  • Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Evaluate problems and recommend possible corrective action to the supervisor.
  • Work with production management and Quality Assurance to provide feedback and training to employees regarding the accuracy of production procedures.
  • Perform assembly, manufacturing, and packing tasks as required.
