About The Position

The Shop Foreman oversees daily operations of the maintenance shop, ensuring all repairs and services are completed safely, efficiently, and up to company standards. This role is responsible for supervising technicians, managing workflow, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring optimal utilization of resources. Responsibilities will also include managing and updating fleet maintenance software system daily, building out workflow and schedules for technicians to ensure efficiency throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in diesel truck maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications preferred.
  • CDL Class A or B, Tanker Endorsement and Hazmat Endorsement is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and support shop technicians in performing maintenance and repairs on semi-trucks and related equipment.
  • Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide guidance to technicians.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Live inventory management system, including monthly physical inventory checks.
  • Monitor parts inventory and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance and managing downtime.
  • Mentor technicians and support ongoing skills development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend corrective actions when needed.
