Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for employees and visitors Understand and enforce safety rules and requirements, including PPE equipment and supplies Train, guide and support Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional service personnel in safe practices Assist Service Manager in accident/ incident investigations Assist Service Manager in recruiting Heavy Equipment Technicians as needed to maintain adequate staff Responsible for training Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional Service Department personnel on companies’ standard operational procedures Assists with the assignment of work orders to Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional Service Department personnel according to their skill set and knowledge Assists in the evaluation of work orders coming into the Service Department by reviewing work orders for accuracy and completeness Directs and assists Heavy Equipment Technicians in the diagnosis of equipment Responsible for maintaining a diverse “ready line” of heavy equipment and specialty attachments Oversee functions and personnel within the Wash Rack area Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints Coordinates and schedules all in-house technician training Assists the Service Manager with coordinating and conducting safety meetings May fill the Service Manager role in their absence Dispatch Field Service Technicians and PM Technicians May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form Comply with government safety and regulation requirements Comply with BLE safety and regulation requirements Assist with special projects and cover for multiple positions when staffing levels are low or operating demands are accelerated Perform other duties as requested Embraces BLE core values: Make It Happen, Do the Right Thing, Work Hard, Smart and Safe, We Care, Be the Best and Own It Supervisor Responsibilities Does this position supervise others? Yes Education & Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction and heavy equipment industry as a Mechanic or Field Technician required Management or Supervisory experience preferred Proficient in Wynne System and Microsoft Office including: Word and Excel Knowledge of frequently used Sales and Customer Relations Concepts, Practices and Procedures Technical Skills Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with a strong ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines Excellent customer service skills Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals and schematics (both hydraulic and electrical) Strong understanding of DOT and OSHA guidelines Capable of safely operating basic hand tools, hydraulic lifts, dollies, and pallet jacks, excavators, compactors, boom trucks, aerial lifts and various other equipment types Travel What is the % of business travel for this job? 0% Does this job require working in multiple states or countries?
